The Hunter is a tense, fast-moving thriller that follows K9 search-and-rescue handler Dannie Bauer
and her bloodhound, Forrest, as they race to stop a ruthless serial predator. Set in small-town Ohio,
the story blends investigative suspense with emotional depth, exploring the psychological toll of

mouse chase that keeps readers questioning who the real monster is until the final pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book

This book caught me because the two main characters, Danny and her Dog, are amazing and
emotional. The way the two interact and have the grit and tenacity to find the serial killer and
overcome the challenges they face in the book is unique and entertaining. I felt identified with her
and how she struggles. Danny feels like a real person trying to survive impossible pressure. The way
the hunter is created is something that makes the story even more real, not only creating physical
danger but at the same time psychological tension, escalating threats, and at the same time, the way
they have to find him makes the pacing of the story interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced and suspeseful thriller

I definitely enjoyed this thriller, The Hunter: A Dannie Bauer Thriller Series by Albert York. It was
very well done in terms of the suspense factor and the way the events and scenes played altogether.
I loved the fast pacing of this book, which didn't feel like it was moving way too quickly just for the

sake of giving a fast-paced story. It was well-executed, and it kept the stakes clear. One thing I
mostly liked is the protagonist's strengths. Dannie Bauer comes across as very sharp and capable,
but it doesn't take away from how human she is. She's driven, alert, and aware of the challenges she's
facing all throughout the book. This is a good start to a series, and it ended up in a positive way
where readers are left with curiosity on how the story will go from here on to the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A story with unexpected twists

What a story! Besides action and unexpected twists, it showcases the relationship of loyalty,
teamwork, and love between Dannie Bauer, a search and rescue dog trainer, and Forrest, her
canine partner, as they investigate the disappearance of a colleague. It's interesting how York, the
author of The Hunter, takes the reader on the hunt for a rather cunning serial killer and rapist,
making the search quite complex, as he seems to know the movements of those searching for him
and always manages to stay one step ahead.
It's a novel that keeps the reader completely hooked, making them not want to stop until they know
what happens next. I'm one of those people who put a lot of faith in a book's cover, and if it matches
the content, this book's cover definitely lives up to that expectation.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVED THIS BOOK

This book totally blindsided me! I kind of expected just another crime thriller, but it packed a punch I
wasn't ready for at all. Dannie Bauer, she's a truly formidable character, especially since we get to
witness her grow so much throughout the pages. She's a K9 search and rescue handler, and
honestly, her bond with Forrest, her bloodhound? It's easily one of the best things. Gives a real,
emotional feel. The story really turns extremely dark with loads of suspense as Dannie chases a
killer always seemingly one step ahead, relentlessly. What I absolutely adored is that the book isn't
just about the bad guy; it asks us the question of how far someone should go before totally losing
themselves. Those small-town settings really amplified the creepiness, and the pace kept me totally
enthralled. All told, it's one gripping thriller; it left me both on edge and really, really excited. I was still
lost in thought long after I put it down.

I absolutely loved this thriller! The plot was incredibly original, fresh, and captivating. As I read on, I
became more and more engrossed. I found this author's writing style excellent; the techniques he
uses and the twists and turns in the plot make it impossible to put the book down. I certainly think he
did an amazing job when it comes to storytelling.
The characters are very well described, especially the protagonist, Dannie. It's wonderful to witness
her transformation throughout the story.
I highly recommend this book. It's captivating and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat the
entire time. Without a doubt, a page-turner.
